Beautiful!

Just had the GE dishwasher installed and I'm so happy with it. I love the color I bought in slate. I almost ordered the stainless color online but decided to visit the store to be sure, and I'm so glad I went because the slate color matched my fridge perfectly! I love the lighted features on the fro...

Pretty dishwasher, easy to clean.

I bought this to match my other appliances. I've had it about two months and it's run about twice a day. Pro's are that it's easy to clean, easy to load up and start. Lots of settings for different types of loads so you're covered in every situation. Lots of room for silverware. Seems to wash and cl...

Faulty Control Panel

I'm here to find out the specs of my current dishwasher to help with shopping for a new one. I have owned several GE dishwashers in the past and was very happy with them. (We moved and left them behind, which is why I've owned several.) I am not happy with this one. We have yet another unit with a faulty control panel after 5 or 6 years of use. I won't buy another GE dishwasher. Otherwise, the dishwasher works pretty well.

Official Response by GE Appliances - BV

We hate to hear that your dishwasher’s control panel failed unexpectedly as this is not something we want or expect from our appliances. We will be sure to forward your experience to our design team; we’re constantly working to make our products better, and we hope to earn your trust back in the future as we continue to improve.

Died Prematurely - Control Boards

Although this machine was a little loud it generally did a good job cleaning our dishes almost every day since we bought the house that came with it. Like many, many, many others - ours would beep on its own at odd hours. We thought was cute for a while until about a month ago it started to be totally unresponsive - requiring the breaker to be flipped on and off to power back on. Everything I've read indicates that this is because either the control or UI board is failing, and will eventually result in a totally dead machine if not replaced. However, I've also read many accounts of people who've replaced both boards only to have them fail again. We've decided to wash our hands of this faulty product and get a more reliable machine from another manufacturer. It seems that this is an incredibly common defect across multiple GE dishwasher models. It's shameful that GE would allow this to pass their engineering and QC processes and not do right by their customers by issuing a recall or *actual* fix. Do better, GE.

We appreciate you taking a moment to share your feedback for this dishwasher. We are going to make sure we note this down to review. That way we can help make our models even better going forward. Again, we appreciate you sharing this and we hope you give us another shot in the future.

Worked very well for about 6-7 years. One day it just stopped working. Bummer as I expected it to last at minimum 10 years but sadly things aren't made to last anymore.

I wish that I could say good things about this dishwasher as it worked good for the first two years and all of a sudden. Started turning on and off by itself, and then just stopped altogether.

We've only had this dishwasher for 4 years and for at least the last two years the dishwasher would only turn on when it felt like it. Repair person would come in and out and he could not find the specific issue but it would simply turn on sometimes and not at all for days on end. We are a family of three so it is fairly light use. Wish we had seen these similar reviews prior to purchasing and would definitely not recommend this specific one to anyone. Currently on our way to buy a new dishwasher (new brand this time for sure) after only 4 years of terrible service.

Purchased in 2016 and stopped working in 2020. Would work sporadically after a power outage but from reading other reviews, it appears that the circuit board is faulty in many cases. Clearly it should be recalled if so many are having the same issue over and over again

I have had this dishwasher for approx. 6 years and have had it repaired twice for the same problem. I was told by the last repairman that GE dishwashers are the worst to buy because they do not last long. It beeps three times when I press start and will not start. The door latch has been replaced 2 times for this reason. This last time, it is doing the same thing but now I'm being told the main control board need to be replaced. I will just buy a new one for all the money they're asking for to fix it now. It will not be GE this time.

I bought a house that the dishwasher had never been used, but was a couple years old. I don't know if that had anything to do with it going out, but I had my brother install a new GE dishwasher in my home. I have no idea how long ago that was, but I don't think I used it for more than a year and just decided to go back to handwashing. This dishwasher didn't seem to particularly get the dishes clean and well if it doesn't do that then what's the point in having it? Fast forward a few years and I am selling my house. I bought some stuff to clean the dishwasher out so it would be nice for the new owners and I noticed there was no power to the dishwasher. I checked the breaker and nothing was tripped. I have no idea when it only worked for maybe a year why it would suddenly just short out, but I am entirely positive that I did NOT get my money's worth. I would not recommend unless you don't like clean dishes or don't like appliances to work properly AND you love to throw money away.
