      Beautiful and functional

      I am in love with my new cooktop. It cooks so evenly and quickly. We don't have natural gas in our area but this electric cooktop is just as great as a gas. It cleans up beautifully with just a warm dishcloth and drying it with a microfiber towel. So easy and sleek.

      Pros: - Quiet Cons: - Controlling the temperature is impossible and very frustrating. An example: I was cooking chili on the dual front burner - set a little bit above "low" and the chili was boiling. I turned it to "low", and five minutes later it was still boiling. Waited another five minutes...

      The Good: It works great! Heats quickly. Looks great. The Other: Knobs are not intuitive or consistent in their operation. The markings for the burner areas should be more obvious. Cleaning the glass takes more effort and time than I'm used to.

      I replaced a previous KitchenAid white cooktop with the same one in black, due to age. It is efficient, love the burner size choices and the 5 burners. I cook several times daily. The black surface is harder to keep clean than the white was, possibly due to the mirror finish. Even using a glass cooktop cleaner. It is not going to look as nice 15 years down the line like the white cooktop did.

      It's a really nice stovetop. It was deeper than the last one so I had to trim the top drawer but otherwise a great buy.

      This Kitchen Aid Cooktop is made very poorly. None of the knobs are straight and they wobbly all around. Apparently today's Kitchen Aid appliances are NOT made the way they were years ago. This is our second cooktop of this model because our first one caught itself on fire and we had to have the fire department come to our home. No one in the house even used the cooktop at all that day. Kitchen Aid refused to take responsibility for a 2 week old appliance that caught itself on fire. Customer service with Kitchen Aid is horrible. They do not care about their customers. Would never recommend a Kitchen Aid cooktop. Would have given zero stars if it let me.

      Just installed about a month ago. Nice looking unit. Unfortunately the controls are consistent due to the dual burner systems and how the knob (hi to low) strategy was carried out.
