I bought the 16 cup sous chef food processor BFP800XL about a month ago. Ive been using alot more than i thought i would. I been making pie dough, grating blocks of cheese. Julienne disk disappointment

We bought one of these back in November 2020 intended to be a final replacement of our 35 year old food processor, and until a couple of days ago we were pretty pleased with the unit. So, on Friday we used the julienne disk for only the second time. Instead of individual juliennes it produced k...

I've owned this food processor for several years. I use it very infrequently (maybe once every two months). I take extremely good care of it and wash it by hand after every use. However, just like other reviewers, a crack has developed at the base of the bowl near where the gear attaches to the motor. This is such a huge disappointment after investing a lot of money into this premium food processor and taking extremely good care of it. There is obviously a design flaw in this bowl given that so many people have experienced this problem. Breville, please fix this for us so we can enjoy your otherwise great product!

Worst food processor in the world

My husband bought this for me to replace an older one, and I absolutely despise it. I use it mainly to make homemade hummus on a regular basis, so just mushing up beans basically, and the bowl has cracked 4 times. There has to be some kind of design flaw causing this, and I strongly suggest against buying this for that reason. You will need to replace the bowl often, and it's been a huge pain to find one available/in stock, aside from the added expense. Just buy something else!

Works great, plastic parts constantly breaking

Had a unit for a short time and already had issues with plastic part breakage. Super disappointing for a premium price. Expect to have order many plastic parts if you purchase or own one. Great chopping and processing otherwise. Also the french fry cutter mini blades are not connected to the lower plate insert and bend out of place making this blade useless after first uses too. Disappointing for such a great power unit too.

The Breville sous chef 16 pro is awesome thus far. Seems more industrial than a regular kitchen food processor, which is good. I ordered the dicing and peeling compatibility kit as well as the dicing kit. There are quite a few components, so make sure you read dimensions, if storage is an issue. But everything comes in its own storage container, which is very convenient.

I do love Breville. I have their Toaster Oven, Pressure cooker, espresso machine, tea kettle and food processor. Every time I have had issues, they usually work to solve it, even if I have to pay a bit. I use my food processor probably every other day. I agree with others that there are some nasty areas that can't be cleaned. I have NEVER placed any part in the dishwasher. I've had it for about 3.5 yrs. And I am here to look for a replacement mixing bowl. It's chipped and cracked. Like others, it does seem regrettable after a short time and treating it like a baby.

Good processor with a design flaw

I really wanted to enjoy this food processor as I have many other breville products that I enjoy (tea maker, bambino, Juice fountain pro), but other than the motor I really don't think it is worth the price. When I first bought it we used it around 30 times, processing vegetables and fruit for canning before it developed a small crack in the large processing bowl around the spindle. I ordered a new one and we moved so we didnt use it for quite a while and we recently picked up a ninja creami and have been using the processor to blend dairy products and fruits before freezing. Again, after about 20 uses another crack developed in the large bowl in the same spot. I have seen other reviews on here reporting this same issue. And yes you can expect to replace parts in a product over a span of five years, but with a product breaking in the same place with limited uses and with inflation now doubling the cost of the bowl replacement, it seems a bit less viable. Things I like about it: -it is powerful -the base is really well made -lots of options for processing foods with the included attachments Things I dont like: -bowl design flaw -not dishwasher safe -the smaller inner bowl is kind of a pain as it always ends up making a mess in the large bowl as well If the bowl had only broke once with regular use I would give it a 3.5-4 star review, but having to replace the same part multiple times with the price doubling in 3 years, makes it a bit less sustainable.

Great machine ruined by flawed bowl that cracks

I've had this machine for a few years, and use it rarely, less often than once a month. And yet the bowl has developed several cracks around the spindle and leaks water. It's really a shame, because the machine has so many great features---the adjustable size slicing disk is great. But as others have noted in the reviews, it appears that Breville expects us to buy a new bowl every couple years. I didn't realize, when I bought it, that the bowl was a short lived consumable part. What a disappointment!

Purchased this when I found that I could no longer purchase a needed part for an old Cuisart. It was easy to assemble and the parts are much easier to put in place. The bowl is generous. I appreciate the strong motor and how easy it is to put things together.
