Actually I give this dishwasher a 3 and one half, it cleans ok, sometimes the soap doesn't get dissolved so you have to run the cycle over again. now it leaks or wont drain. Service request has been put in with homebuilder for warranty work.

I replaced the bottom rack after 2-3 years due to rust. It was a cheap fix and got me another 2-3 years of life. Now the door sags on one side and you need to prop it up to get it to close but it still cleans really well. Most of the reviews are from people like me who got this in a new build home. It worked great with a few bumps along the way but I got over 5 years out of it and have a new upgraded GE model being installed this week. Go with a stainless steel tub and leaking and rusting out door hardware should not happen like with this model.

Stay away from this machine. Both the upper and lower racks will rust and break and GE will do nothing about it. Replacement parts are no longer available and the new parts don't fit

The washing dishes clean is good; however, the top and bottom racks rust within a year. They are still operable but keep deteriorating and staining dishes. I had to replace the bottom one after maybe 2 years of use and now, 5 years since purchased new, after procrastinating forever the top has to go as well. I wish I could post a picture but don't see that option.

Racks started to rust after 3 years. At 5 years was thinking of replacing. Stained our dishes. Just replaced the flood switch only to discover the fill switch is bad. Friend has GE and says that he has had to replace the flood switch 3 times.

Bought a new house 3 years ago which came with this GE dishwasher. 2.5 years later, trays are rusty. This is simply unacceptable. It's a dishwasher that should be designed to get wet. We do not stack our dishwasher to a heavy load, neither do we place a knife in a cycle. beyond disappointed and will not purchase another GE appliance.

This model rack is PVC-coated over steel. When loading the dishwasher with sharp objects (ex., knives), ensure it is carefully placed so that it does not nip the racks coating over time. Has always trupped the breaker when the soap opens. Water heater works when it wates to, about every 3rd cycle.
