Get cleaner floors in no time with the Ecovacs DEEBOT OZMO 930 Robot Vacuum. A wi-fi connected robot vacuum, the DEEBOT OZMO 930 can be controlled using the ECOVACS app, allowing you to schedule cleanings, track progress, and receive error alerts. The OZMO Mopping system has the capability to mop your floors, and with built-in sensors, this vacuum detects when to turn on mopping mode. With Smart Navi navigation technology, the DEEBOT OZMO 930 brings you intelligent mapping with customizable options, so your home gets the most efficient cleaning. An interchangeable suction inlet gives you the versatility to clean any messes, whether its pet hair or food crumbs, and with anti-collision and drop sensors your vacuum and furniture are kept safe.
Ecovacs is amazing to deal with. I had issues with another model and they replaced my machine which was phenomenal. That being said my old machine that wandered around aimlessly until it died did a better job of cleaning the floor. Because this machine works in straight lines if it misses something ...on the first pass it's going to stay on the floor. I am always having to use the custom area feature and a 2x clean to get a decent job of crumby areas like the kitchen and under the table and even then, it's still leaving crumbs on the floor. The older machine I could drive myself and had a circular pattern spot clean, I wish these features could be added. I do love that you can switch out the roller brush because I hate cleaning my hair out of vacuum brushes! I also wish that I could set the clean areas myself, it arbitrarily linked a carpeted bedroom with the tiled bathroom and hardwood hallway. It's cool that it can detect if it's on hard floor or carpet for mopping, but the hardwood is uneven in some places or something so it has decided parts of it are carpet even though they aren't and it won't wash there. I wish there was a way I could override this. I've also had issues with having bedroom doors closed while it's assigned to the kitchen and then I am unable to get it to go into the bedroom when the door is open because it's decided there is a wall there- even though it had previously cleaned the room. I had to run autoclean several times and make sure all the doors were open to get it to figure out there was no wall there. Again some kind of override or manual map editing feature would be nice. It's also kind of concerning that after removing the battery after cleaning the machine announces that it is rebuilding the map and that you shouldn't stand next to it. Is it shooting out a bunch of radiation? Or what is that about? Anyway, it has a few quirks but they could easily fixed in the app. I have bad hips so this machine is an absolute life saver for me!

Fantastic hardware let down by a buggy app
After significant researching into robot vacuum cleaners and testing out a competitor that used a camera to navigate, the Ozmo 930 is the best bang for your buck. As of this review, the Ozmo is really the only bot that actually maps, out of all the advertised mapping bots. The others, be it lidar, c...amera, or ultrasonic "mapping" bots really only use their sensors for orientation but delete the map after completing a run nullifying all they have learned. So, you can't set virtual boundaries, or set precise cleaning areas or just send them to a single room. Like me, as you are researching your options you may think the limiting factor to this tech is suction. However, after testing the Ozmo and the Samsung Powerbot R7090, which arguably has the best suction among any robotic vacuum cleaner, I was wrong. The limiting factor is actually navigation. Nothing so far even comes close to the Ozmo in this regard and if you want a bot that you never have to babysit, this is the one for you. Hopefully, Ecovacs will soon fix the clunky app.
MAPPING: The permanent map the Ozmo builds is both its best feature and the achilles heel. When building the map move everything, such as cat toys, rolling chairs, dinning room chairs, or whatever else out of the way. You can later introduce them to the cleaning areas and the bot will navigate around them without issue, however if left there during the initial mapping process they will stay on your map forever and it may not clean those areas properly. For example, in my dining room the curtains were identified as an obstruction during the initial mapping and so the map never made it to the walls edge behind the curtain. However, I moved them out of the bot's sight during the second mapping attempt and now, it will push aside the curtains and clean all the way to the edge. Therefore, a high quality map means optimal and consistent cleaning. Also, as with most of these bots, it assumed a pure black mat was a drop off and refused to climb on top of it. I had to replace that mat with a lighter colored one to finally get it to clean that area. Plus, it has combined the dinning room, kitchen, living room, and foyer into one big area. There is no way to manually separate them unfortunately. However, the hallway is split into three separate areas with no way to combine them.
VACUUMING: Ozmo will pick up almost everything it will roll over with the main brush. However, the side brushes basically seem to do nothing (especially on carpet). So, just assume that about a 2" strip (where the wheels are) along the edges of furniture and walls have been untouched. My home is mostly hard floor with some small area rugs near the main entryways and one in the living room. The regular beater brush has done such a good job picking up cat hair and dust that I have had no reason to test out the suction only inlet. The only thing I don't like about this part of the bot is the dirt bin. If cleaning daily it is large enough, however, it is really frustrating to empty. First of all, the filter on the back is extremely loose and often as I unlatched the bin to empty, the filter along with the charcoal foam pad fall into the trash can as well. Then you have to stick your hand into the can to get those out. Also, the sticker on the bin states to tap the filter on the trash can to dislodge dirt. This creates a nice plume of fine dust that sets off a sneezing fit. Second, the mesh screen cements cat hair to itself which you have to scrape off with your fingers or the included multi-tool. This too adds to the plume of fine dust. That dust cloud is unavoidable but if your can has a lid and you are fast enough, you can trap it all inside.
MOPPING: the mopping feature is essentially a gimmick. It did not seem to clean up the dusty footprint I purposefully left on my kitchen tile on the high output water setting. I did let it finish the full mopping run, but the pad looked basically just as clean as when I had put it on the bot. So, there is basically no point in using the mopping feature. However, as advertised, it never went on any of the area rugs with the mop attached.
GENERAL NAVIGATION: Unlike other lidar bots that will run along the edge of a room and then split it up into smaller cleaning sections, the Ozmo will from the start, run in parallel lines. So, it will do about 1600 square feet in about an hour. That's the main area of my house, including the living room, dinning room, foyer, a hallway, and the laundry room where it lives. I can do the same with a full size corded upright in about 45 minutes so it is not much slower. However, even after the mapping it doesn't seem to optimize its path. For example, it will often miss the breakfast area in the kitchen and go into the living room coming back after it has done the living room to clean that area. Often, it will only do half the hall then go do the dining room, then come back to finish up the hall. Since, it has such a sophisticated map, it would be far more efficient to finish a whole room or area instead of wasting battery power going back and forth. In any case, it doesn't seem to miss any spots. Also, after the permanent map is made it's fairly resilient to small changes in the cleaning environment. I have often stood right in front of it and watched it come to a stop, gently bump my feet go around me and keep on cleaning. Most times it will even come back to where I had previously stood to clean. Furthermore, it almost always makes it back to the dock no matter where it is in the house. In the 40 or so runs it has done since I did the permanent mapping, it has only ever gotten lost once. In that case as well I don't think it was the Ozmo's fault. My cat hopped off of the recliner right as the Ozmo was there and as the recliner was rocking down it trapped the Ozmo's lidar hump. I yanked it out, instead of just rocking the recliner back and letting it work itself out, which disorientated the bot. However, the other bot I used to have, the Samsung Powerbot R7090, had a basically 1/10 chance in making it back to the base, which is in the same spot as the one for the Ozmo.
APP: Unfortunately, the vital app is simply awful and the reason I took off two full stars on an otherwise 5 star bot. Some of the features such as scheduled cleaning of only certain areas don't even seem to work. The option is there but clicking on it does nothing. So, everyday I have to manually launch the app, have the map not load, force quit the app, relaunch it, tap area clean, wait 15-30 seconds for it to load then select all the areas I want cleaned. Other features, such as drawing virtual boundaries are basically unusable. You can't zoom in to draw the boundaries otherwise it will glitch and either make the area way, way too big, or mess up the shape entirely. The boundaries also are not consistent. Some times the Ozmo will avoid them perfectly, other times, ignore them, often getting stuck (which is why I placed the boundaries in the first place). The bot does not account its lidar hump when going under furniture. I have a hall tree with an intricate design on the bottom that creates variations in height from the floor. Therefore, when the Ozmo ignores the virtual boundary I have set it will go under the tall part of the hall tree turn around and try to exit from the short part slamming its lidar hump into the furniture. It will then spend about five minutes just slamming into it, take a break, try to slam into some other parts, take a break, then methodically slam into every corner, eventually finding the tall part again and escaping from under the furniture. I have a couple of other similar pieces of furniture. For one of them a slight dip in the floor creates just enough space for the hump to pass into but then it cannot get out. However, I have never had to help it out. It will take it at least ten minutes of slamming but eventually it will figure it out. But this wouldn't be a problem if the app and bot communicated properly on where the virtual boundaries are.
Overall, even with the lousy app, the Ozmo is the one to get. It's very low maintenance, cleans effectively consistently, and loaded with features.

The robot is nice, do a good job, but they don't vacum dark carpets or with black details. It would be perfect if ECOVACS fix this problem

We are going on almost a year with our Deebot Ozmo930 and after owning 3 competitor brands I can say that the Deebot is by far the best. It is the smartest of the the "smart robot vacuums". They have the best customer service and the app is truly easy to use. I will be purchasing another for our second floor!
A year and still going strong!

I am a previous owner of a basic robot vacuum from a competitor and wanted to upgrade to a more feature-rich robot vacuum with smart mapping technology, mopping, and continuous cleaning. After conducting quite a bit of online research, I decided on the DEEBOT Ozmo 930, and could not be happier.
The majority of our main floor is engineered hardwood, with the exception of one carpeted room. We also have a number of area rugs, mats, etc. I generally run the vacuum setting once or twice per week to pick up dust, dirt, cat hair, etc. and run the mopping setting maybe twice per month.
The only issue I've had with it is that DEEBOT will occasionally get stuck underneath the front lip of my dishwasher, which seems to trap the raised sensor on the back of the device, if it happens to turn around in just the right manner. This happens perhaps once every four or five times that it runs. If we are not there, the cleaning will stop and then we can continue the clean cycle after freeing DEEBOT.
I am in the market for another robot vacuum for a different floor of the house (mostly carpeted) and plan to purchase another DEEBOT.

I have not had my Ozmo930 for 18 months and I do not know what I would do with out it. There are a few things I would like to change...I have it stored in my mud room and if I want it to mop, it will not go over the runner to reach the hardwood floor so I can't use the mopping feature without relocating. I also have to re-establish the map on occasion. Other than that, I love it.
I do have the software loaded to both my cell phones (work and personal) so I can have it vacuum the house while I'm out as the app has to work on the home wi-fi. It's the only way I can leave the house and have him vacuum for me.
But if those little things are not important to you, this is a great little bot.

We have been using our OZMO930 for over a year and absolutely LOVE it. We have hardwood on most of our first floor and my favorite feature is the ability to mop in addition to vacuum. It does a great job cleaning up crumbs and the "smart navigation" makes this much more efficient than competing (and more expensive) models which lack this feature.
While it doesn't allow you to save multiple floors of maps (basement, first floor, second floor) it DOES retain the main map (in our case the first floor) and when I relocate to the basement or second floor, it maps those areas as it cleans making sure to get all of the area and then restores the main map when placed on the dock.
This is definitely a premium feel, premium feature vacuum at an affordable price point. I would HIGHLY recommend.

I bought this to help maintain the house, since we owned a 901 and it worked great. We were looking for something that would mop our vinyl floors while it vacuumed. The vacuum did well sucking up debris and dog hair we have around the house. The mopping features were a little iffy when working on them. First it appears that even on Max, it takes a bit for the water to soak the pad to begin mopping. Second I was told that I was unable to use any cleaning solution or even vinegar in the water.
I had an issue with my tank, Ecovacs sent a new one promptly. While trying to debug the tank issue, the tech advised I could use vinegar in the water. Also what I do now is wet the cloth pad with the remaining water/vinegar mixture before placing it on the bot. Works perfectly now and cleans the floors.

The Mop works good, easy to set up, and use. Floor gets pretty clean. Good run time. Deebot could use a better mapping system., it gets stuck often. A little pricey for it to get stuck as often as it does.
