10/10 would recommend for all you forgetful peeps out there. Doesn't burn the building down when my coworker leaves it on while it's sitting on top of a shopping cart full of cardboard. That's been tested a few times. Enjoy a room that feels warm and cozy, not crispy and burnt when you arrive at work.

I was worried that this model Vornado wouldn't be as good as the old one that I used for many years, but for the most part it's better: smaller, quieter and well designed. I initially replaced my old one with a Vornado that I thought was metal but turned out to be plastic. It gave off an odor when I plugged it in and I was worried for the small parrot I own - birds are extremely sensitive to air quality. I ordered this all metal VMH500 and it's a bit smaller than the original and it's extremely quiet. My only little complaint is that my original Vornado showed me both the temperature setting of the heater and the actual temperature of the room, while this new one shows your desired temp setting very briefly and then goes back to showing only the room's actual temperature. I feel like this heater is safe - I checked the cord and plug for any warmth/heat and they're fine. I read the safety instructions and checked the rest of the heater as it advised and all was fine (fire is a huge fear of mine). Anyway, this heater quickly warms the whole bedroom and it's quiet and safe, and safe for my bird.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Got this unit for Christmas. It worked 2 days ,no issues. Then nothing worked. I have called the Company, no response each time. Remote is cheap and totally worthless.

Bought one because my living room has vaulted ceilings the room is 15x15 it doesnt really heat or maintain the heat in room, display always says its 69 degress, i feel the fan doesnt have enough strenght, my thermostat aslo happens to be in my living room its set at 73 and runs non stop even with yhe vornado on, a cheap heater worls better as it also has the auto climate and sweeping motion and the fan on that blows like it should and warms the room better, kinda disappointed this is my first vornado and last not what i expected from vornado, poor performance, maybe they should have adjustable fan speed on these and stronger motors.

I use this in my bedroom. I can get a great night sleep. I don't wake up sweating from constant heat or cold because temperature doesn't properly regulate. I would recommend it to anyone that was looking for a room heater. I do feel the products are a bit pricey but the products are excellent.

This heater has a constant annoying humming noise. Also remote control is very unresponsive even with a new battery. It was sent to me to replace a VH10 which was my original choice, but was returned with problem. I think I`m going to return this one also.

I do have to agree with the previous reviews about the remote, it is rather flimsy. I don't even bother using it. I had received this heater to test out, for 2-3 weeks it was fantastic, then as I said, it started to melt at the plug in. So, I do recommend, but with a caveat, YOU MUST WATCH the cord. I will not be able to use this unit any longer because of this issue.

The heater works beautifully on high. It has a quiet, soft hum which is not at all annoying. In fact, I find it works as white noise making it easier for me to concentrate. On low heat there is a hum but I cannot hear the fan. The fan is a little louder when on the fan only setting. This unit warms up a 150 sq ft room very quickly on the high heat setting. On the low heat setting it doesn't heat the room well as well since the fan isn't pushing the air far. BUT it did a good job of maintaining the warmth once the room was warmed up using the high setting. Remote is great for people who might have a hard time getting up from a chair or bed to make adjustments to the settings. One big negative for me is that the cord is too short for the location I had hoped to use it. It is not recommended to plug this heater into an outlet that has other high wattage appliances on the same circuit. Because of this I had to plug it into a hall outlet outside the intended room. It just barely reached the doorway. The second location I would use it is the living room. There again I felt the cord was too short to get it away from furniture and curtains, as recommended. Also, the cord does get a little warm. This is normal for high wattage items since my 1500 watt professional iron does the same thing. I always unplug it when I walk away anyhow. The instructions have a lot of information about what type of outlets should be used or not and this is good. I called their customer service with some questions about this, they answered very quickly and were helpful. Lights on the same circuit dimmed very slightly when the heat kicked on. My 1500 watt iron does the same thing. Again, I don't leave that iron or this heater plugged in when not in use. Overall, for my use in the small bedroom of my townhouse, this unit was too big and powerful. I looked at the Vornado website..they have a "personal" sized one that is lower watts (uses less electricity) which would be better for my small townhouse.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

This heater really packs a punch! It's small in size and easy to move from room to room should you need to. I love that it is adjustable, you can adjust the temp, and just use the fan if you wish. It may be small but it heats quite a large area. I have an open dining room/kitchen that I have been using this heater in and it heats both rooms with ease. It's very quiet, not even a hum. I would purchase this heater over and over. I feel safe using it, the outside casing doesn't get hot to the touch and with 2 small children and 3 indoor dogs, that was a huge concern to me. Again, I would highly recommend this heater! I'd be looking at more in the future!
