      I installed the lock myself. I needed a little bit of help from Yale customer support to get everything working. Yale customer support center was very helpful and responsive. There are a couple of negatives. Sometimes the app gets confused and thinks door is locked or unlocked when it isn't. This isn't a bit issue though. Just use the app to lock or unlock again and it will correctly figure out the status. The feature to tell you if the door is ajar doesn't work for some reason. The pros are the exterior facing lock design is small and clean looking. Locking the door on exit is a breeze. Just tap the lock. I love that I can open the door with the app or with a code. I can program multiple codes into the lock, one for each person entering the home. The lock alerts me as to who is entering or exiting. Well worth the money!

There were NO instructions at all included on how to set up the internet, attach to iPhone, etc, what's what on the modules, spent three hours trying to get it hooked up. A total pain to install. It works, after you figure their mess out, figure how to connect to WiFi (must have outlet VERY close to door!). Very frustrating to get set up and working properly.

      Functionally, this is the same lock as the August, but it is vastly better mechanically and has a real keypad. The keypad on the August is Mickey-Mouse plastic & regularly fails. The August battery life is < 2 months. This lock's keypad is rock-solid reliable, and batteries last 6+ months. That said, the August software is problematic in many ways. That's what happens when you get software written by hardware people. It works well enough, though, and the Alexa skill works fine. The auto-open (which is the main feature I want) does fail occasionally, though the fact that you have a decent keypad compensates for that to a large extent. The main negative is that the "Connect" wall wart barely connects via bluetooth. Mine is in unobstructed line of site, about 7 feet in front of from the lock, and the connection is marginal. There's really no excuse for that. I've also had the Z-wave/SmartThings version of this lock and that's way worse than this August version. For one thing, the SmartThings hub goes offline at least twice a day at random intervals. Also, the "auto open" feature on SmartThing unlocks your door when you're a quarter mile (or more) away, which is just nuts. Auto-unlock on the Yale lock usually works as I'm walking up the stairs to my front door.

      Overall I'm really happy with this alarm and how it intigrates with my Ring alarm system, but there are some things that could be improved. I bought this for Ring integration and weather resistance, because I don't need a deadbolt and didn't want water getting inside the door. This has a gasket to keep the seam sealer and seems sealed well itself, but the the side of it has a rather large and totally unnecessary speaker hole. That should at least have been put on the bottom, but it's not even necessary. I covered mine with a high-quality weather proof tape so it doesn't hurt the appearance too bad but I'm annoyed that it's even there. The automatic relock can be turned off or set for 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 3 minutes. I have it set to three minutes, but this is annoyingly short for me. I would probably use it on 5 minutes, but wish there was also a 10 minute choice. Finally, I doubt they would make this change, but I wish there was an optional setting to disable the ring alarm when I manually unlock the deadbolt from the inside. Can't tell you how many times I have set off the alarm while I'm still half asleep in the morning.

      This lock is awesome. My favorite features is that you can set it up to auto unlock your door as you are approaching. Hugely helpful if your are walking to your door with a handful of groceries. It works with bluetooth so i was a little worried i would keep unlocking my door as i get anywhere near it when in the house. But it is definitely a smart lock. You have to walk at least a couple hundred meters away form your home for a period of time for it to activate the auto unlock feature. All around great loc with so many features. Easy/Quick to install. looks great. works great with iphones. Can customize specific unlock codes for specific people, that are only to be used during a specific time interval. SO AWESOME. you can also unlock with your phone from anywhere. GOTTA LOVE TECHNOLOGY

      Lock is EXTREMELY intolerant of imperfections in door drilling. App is pretty slow at connecting to the door. Other then that works reliably and keypad is not slow unlike the august keypad. If you're trying to get away from the sluggish august keypad this is your lock.

      I needed a way to allow remote entry for several users of a music rehearsal space. I had gone for another, well-known, brand starting with a 'K', with smartphone application and keypad entry and it was a technical nightmare. This product has been an ideal replacement. Reliable, easy to install, easy to set up codes. Easy to set preferences. I haven't used the Alexa feature of the included smart module, but I'm reasonably sure it'd do what it says it'd do... If you need/want to program individual codes for multiple users, this isn't the flashiest product on the market, but it's going to get the job done without a hitch.

      This product installed well enough. It's a big improvement astetically on an older model we had at a previous home. However this one seems to have issue deciding on which way the bolt slides.
