Received this from my wife for Xmas after scaring everyone in BestBuy by pressing the demo button.lol. sound is great functionality is more than expected. only gripe i have is that the lights dont pulsate to the bass like my other sony sound system.(hopefully that shows up in a future software update, or atleast complete manual control of lights)

This is an excellent system. It works straight out of the box, so setting up isn't required. The first thing to strike me was the party lights. They are a real winner for my kids as they fill the room nicely. The sound is very loud so it's ideal for parties or movies. The bass is ridiculously powerful so I mostly leave the profile on the flat setting for music. The bluetooth sounds great (I have a sony mobile that supports LDAC) and playing music from my phone sounds very good. I'd certainly recommend it, particularly if you like your music big and loud.

First impressions upon unboxing, this is a solid well built machine. The cabinet made from wood and the speakers all protected by steel mesh covers. It weighs 22kg unboxed and is easily transported from room to room via rear wheels and a top grab handle. Switching on for the first time, it connected seamlessly to my iPhone via Bluetooth and a voice confirms this connection from the machine each time you power it on. All the controls are situated on the top of the unit,and are very easy to understand even for someone with the most basic tech knowledge,there's even the facility to use your hand gestures also and of course the instructions give you an in depth insight. You also have the opportunity to download two apps, Sony Music Center and Fiestable which just adds to the fun. Sony have crammed this with more features than you could shake a stick at, such as 360 degree led party lights,DJ,Sampler,Karaoke,voice changer, DVD player, you can even connect it to your tv and enjoy football mode which enhances the sound of the crowd over voices to immerse you more in your teams efforts. Basically there's something for everyone on this machine it's just so functional. How does it sound ?....... OMG ... this thing packs a punch ! Which let's face it we'd be disappointed if it didn't right. It will happily sit all day long in the corner of a room quietly playing your tunes as you do your chores but get a few mates round for a beer or two and this thing will get the party started. The power is fabulous, the base strong and that's without using the mega base option. I've took it up to it's maximum 50 volume steadily, waiting for the sound to start to distort and it just doesn't , it just gets louder and louder and stays clear and crisp. In summary this is a very capable machine that covers a multitude of uses. It's no one trick pony and Sony have put a lot of thought into its features to ensure it earns its place in any household.

This was for my Son. He has the largest bedroom, so I thought this would be needed to fill the room with sound. I underestimated the output from the speakers. This plays LOUD. It produces a sound that is really big and shouty. It isn't particularly subtle, so if you use it for parties, dance or rock music, or movies, then it will literally blow you away. Using the "excited" mode for movies really lives up to its name. It's like being at the cinema, particularly anything impact such as explosions. Your houses fixtures are at risk from the bass. Connectivity options are good. Being fussy, for external audio a 3.5mm audio jack would have been nice alongside the 2 x RCA jacks. Bluetooth is excellent, and if your device supports LDAC bluetooth (his phone does), then the sound is even better than regular bluetooth. The only grumble would be on the FM radio. The reception is fine, but the sound quality is really poor compared to all other sources. It can be improved by playing with the sound effect settings, but then switching to another source sounds all wrong. Surely it should be DAB or even Internet streaming to overcome the weak FM receiver. Last two points. The lights. He loves them when gaming with the bedroom lights off. Finally, Football sound mode. I can't believe it works. It really does. If you just want crowd noise, it gets rid of the commentary. Funnily, it also works brilliantly on adverts, so if you switch it on you hear everything else but the speach. Sure it's a gimmick, but one that works. Overall it is a very good audio system but it needs a big room or you'll be easilly overpowered by its volume.
