This lock was installed in a new condo I just bought. It offers great convenience. My door unlocks when I have my arms full and I can lock or unlock remotely when needed. Wish I had had it in my old place.

I've been using the August WiFi Smart Lock for a couple years now and I haven't used/needed a house key since I installed it. I have it set to lock automatically (after a set amount of minutes) so I never have to worry if I forgot to lock the door, and unlock for me automatically when I come home. This is of course optional, but it works great for me and means that all I need is to have my phone on me and the door will unlock when I get within range without even needing to take it out of my pocket. I use the keypad (separate item, not included) to ensure I never get locked out, even if I don't have my phone. All in all it's a much more secure option than just using a key. It's really more of a system than a just a lock. Other than the odd time I have to take my phone out and use the app to open the door (rare, and usually because I forgot to turn my data back on after turning it off) the system executes smoothly. I haven't had any issues with the software, no bugs or crashes, ever. The only thing I have to do is remember to change the batteries. If you use the regular lithium batteries it'll tell you when they're low, but I use rechargeable lithium ion batteries. They are steady output so it can't warn me about them but I just rotate them monthly and they've never run out. All in all, a great smart lock [system] and a great addition to your smart home. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to go keyless, and/or as part of a more robust security system with added ease and convenience.
