Product Description
Add an aerial element to your video and photos with the Toruk AP10 Quadcopter with Integrated 16MP FPV Camera from AEE. It features two control solutions: an included 915 MHz handheld transmitter (radio controller) and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi link so that you pair it with a separately available Android or iOS mobile device. Because of the limited range of Wi-Fi, a range extender is included, allowing you to change settings a view a live, low-latency video feed from up 1000' away. Both the mobile device and range extender can be mounted to the transmitter using included hardware, for added convenience.
With a separately available microSDHC memory card, the camera can record Full HD 1080p video at 30 fps and take up to 16-megapixel still photos. Two photo modes are available, single shot for one-off photos, and burst to help ensure you catch fast action at just the right moment. The camera's mount is motorized and can tilt down 90-degrees - allowing you to capture with the camera pointing straight at the ground.
Because of the complexity multi-rotor RC aircraft entail, there is a computerized flight control system relying on GPS, gyros, and other sensor data to provide the autonomy required for maintaining a stable flying condition. There are two default flight modes, GPS mode for the greatest redundancy, and Normal mode to give the pilot more control. Advanced settings and customizations are available using the mobile app for iOS and Android.
This bundle is ready-to-fly. This means a pre-bound transmitter, 5300mAh flight battery, battery charger, a total of 8 props, and other essentials all come in the box. It also means that only minimal assembly - such as installing the props - is required, and the necessary tools are provided. However, as with all GPS-based multi-rotors, calibration steps will have to be performed before each flight. Failure to do so can result in loss, damage, or injury. Please refer to the user manual before your first flight for details.
Integrated 16MP FPV Camera
The flight camera features 16-megapixel JPEG still capture and can record Full HD (1080p) video at 30 fps. It can also beam a low resolution live feed to an iOS or Android smartphone via its 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection. A wide - 120-degree - field of view lens helps give footage and immersive, POV feel but with less of the distortion you would tend to get with an ultra-wide or fisheye lens.
Camera function can be operated remotely using the mobile app. These include video record start/stop, taking photos, and manually tilting the camera. High quality video and photos are recorded to a separately available microSDHC card up to 32GB.
App Based Control with Wi-Fi Range Extender Included
As a supplement to the handheld transmitter, you can use an Android or iOS mobile device that is Wi-Fi enable to view a live feed from the camera and change the quadcopter's settings. A mount is included so that you can attach a small mobile device such as a smartphone directly to the transmitter.
Since the range of your device's Wi-Fi is limited, a range extender is included. With the extender, distances of up to 1000' are possible. The range extender includes its own battery and charger.
Handheld Transmitter Included
A 915 MHz transmitter (radio controller) is included with the AP10. It features a traditional dual stick design that RC fliers will be familiar with, and includes auxiliary controls for operating the camera - in particular, video record start/stop and photo. The transmitter includes a holder that allows you to attach a smaller mobile device, such as a smartphone.
GPS and Normal Flight Modes
GPS mode provides the greatest autopilot redundancy, and is ideal for beginners or aerial photography applications where the aircraft needs to hold a fixed position. Normal mode, meanwhile, gives the pilot greater control will still using the gyros and other sensors to semi-autonomously stabilize the quadcopter.
Return Home Fail Safe
With GPS properly calibrated before each flight, the quadcopter will automatically fly back to a pre-specified Home Point if contact with the transmitter is ever lost.
Note: If the GPS is not calibrated before each flight and Return Home is engaged, the aircraft will attempt to fly to whatever Home Point was last recorded. Please ensure successful GPS before flying.
Airframe LED Status Indicators
LED status light on the struts of the TORUK AP10 provides you with various feedback as well as warnings. Colors alternate between green and red and can either be flashing or solid. These messages give you valuable information such as whether the flight control system is properly calibrated or warning you the battery is getting low.
Slot-In Battery with LED Indicators
A 5300 mAh battery slots into the "tail" of the Toruk AP10, enabling up to 25 minutes of flying time. It features and on/off switch and LCD battery level indicators. For recharging, balance and power regulation is handled internally within the battery itself. You simply plug it into a wall outlet with the supplied power cord and and the battery will recharge in approximately 90 minutes.
10" Self-Tightening Propellers
Included with this bundle are a total of 8 props; 4 to go on the quadcopter and 4 spares. A self-tightening design means the nuts are integrated into the props reducing the risk they might loosen or detach in-flight. The props are paired, one member featuring clockwise (CW) and one member counterclockwise (CCW) rotation. Different color codings are used to help you differentiate the clockwise and counterclockwise versions.
