I purchased this soundbar to replace a 10-year-old 5.1 system. The technology that this sound bar emphasizes one is its ability to be used from a smartphone. I really appreciate this as I'm able to visually see instructions on how to setup the sound bar step by step using the LG Soundbar app. I'm also able to change the sound profiles of the sound bar on the app which I find so much easier than using the remote that it came with. If you have smart devices, you'll like making and seeing all the adjustments you make. One notable feature of using the app is the LG AI sound profile. You can use the app to measure the sound space of your room and provide you an optimized sound profile for your space. In terms of using this profile, it needs work as I feel it lacks a good deal of bass. Let's talk about sound profiles. There are two ways you can access them. One is through LG Soundbar app and the other is through your TV. They are very different sound profiles and you can only use the sound profile your device is connected too. For example, I love the Bass profile on the app when I connect from my phone. I cannot use this profile if I'm connected to the TV unfortunately. Once I switch over to the TV, the soundbar chooses the profile provided by the TV, in this case, an LG C1. In terms of the hardware quality of the bar, subwoofer and rear satellites, they are robust and solid. The quality of construction here really stands out. The sound coming from the bar is crystal clear. Dialogue from streaming app movies and shows are clear. The satellites provides that immersion while watching TV. I can really feel like I'm in the zone. The largest weakness is the subwoofer. I feel like the subwoofer can be push a lot further and louder. Hopefully there will be a software update in the future to do so. In closing, this sound bar currently as it stands, offers an all-around above average experience. LG just needs to update the app to allow sound profiles to carry over to the TV and open up the use of the subwoofer.

Firstly, Please allow me to thank the campaign for providing an opportunity to review the LG sound bar S80TR. Here is my detailed review of the product based on my experience. Pro's: 1. Surround sound system: The audio is crisp and deep and the experience can be theatrical with the right audio/video 2. Bass: The bass response is deep and powerful, adding great depth to the sound. I am attaching a video recording of my experience with JBL's ultra-deep music 3. Sound clarity: The sound clarity is excellent, with clear and distinct highs and midrange. The system handles complex audio tracks with ease, and it's a joy to listen to 4. Set up: It is fairly simple with 4 quick steps I am a believer of there's always scope for improvement and below are my recommendations: 1. AI room calibration: The place I live is differently shaped my kitchen is behind the living room where my sound bar is set up. I tried AI calibration in the kitchen area and I didn't feel there was much of a change 2. Any soundbar output depends on the audio file I wish LG comes up a design irrespective of input the audio production is consistent 3. There were rare occasions I experienced a nanosecond lag among speakers and it was only during HDMI arc connection and I felt Bluetooth audio output was sharper than HDMi I recommend this product for Cinematic and music enthusiast to have at their home for an immersive experience

The LG sound bar (LG Soundbar S80TR) has been a fantastic experience! It provides an exceptional surround sound experience with Dolby Atmos, completely changing how I enjoy movies and TV shows. The mobile app's ability to enable surround sound across all connected speakers was an unexpected but fantastic feature. Through the rear speakers with this feature enabled, it was nice to have a speaker closer to hear from than the soundbar below the TV. Of course, this will vary based on the size of your living room, but for me, it was beneficial! The profile is slim; it is taller than my prior sound bar, which might block your remote input if the sound bar sits below your TV versus wall mounted. I appreciate that the sound bar tells you when it is receiving a Dobly Atmos signal; I noticed this varies from streaming apps. The use of AI to calibrate the speakers based on their placement was impressive, and the software lets you test the new calibration or go back to being uncalibrated to see the difference! I did buy two speaker stands for the rear speakers to improve the setup. The process of setting up the rear speakers was straightforward, and the stands provided stability and improved the overall sound quality. Another use of AI in the speaker is the ability of the system to select the correct sound profile versus manually selecting it. One thing I would like to improve is the display. Instead of showing Optical output or eARC, you can customize the digital display to show, say, TV or whatever the source was.

We previously used our TV speakers for a number of years, and the LG Soundbar S80TR took everything to a whole new level. Setting up and installing the LG Soundbar took less than thirty minutes to complete. You're able to utilize your Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity to listen to Spotify or audio directly from your phone, tablet, or PC. You can also Cast content directly to the soundbar. You're also to update and main the soundbar via the LG Soundbar App. Within the app you can adjust the output volume for each speaker. This is ideal if you live in an apartment or you don't want to wake your family at night. While playing content that supports a 5.1.3 setup, you're able to hear voices and sound effects all around you. The 5 represents the amount of speakers in the soundbar; the .1 represents the subwoofer, and finally, the .3 represents the Dolby Atmos speakers. Even my partner, who is typically skeptical of soundbars due to their tendency to overpromise and underdeliver, was thoroughly impressed by the clarity and robust bass this complete system offers. Setup couldn't be simpler. Just plug everything in and press the pairing button on the back of each speaker and the subwoofer. A green light on the front of each component indicates an active connection, making the process quick and hassle-free. The LG STR80 truly excels in quality, clarity, and bass response. Dialogue is exceptionally crisp and easily distinguishable from ambient sounds and music tracks. The level of audio separation is unmatched compared to other brands I've tried previously. Things like wi-fi and bluetooth allow you to directly stream music from popular services with very little fuss, it's really easy to beam from your preferred services. It even has built-in support for Chromecast and Airplay 2 The first film we watched had Dolby True Sound and this sound bar did a fantastic job of making the sound feel immersive, very good highs and lows, excellent spatial acoustics. . For those who love to fine-tune their audio experience, LG offers a dedicated soundbar app available on app stores. This app allows for easy customization, including features like night mode and various sound enhancements. As an owner of an LG C3 4K TV and an LG Cinebeam Projector, I can attest to the seamless integration of this soundbar. There are no passthrough quirks or audio sync issues that I've encountered with other brands. It simply works, and it works exceptionally well. If you're in the market for a top-tier soundbar system, I highly recommend giving the LG S80TR a try. I'm confident you'll be as impressed as I am with its outstanding performance and ease of use.

An excellent system that checks all the boxes for functionality and performance. Great room filling sound enhanced further by WOW Orchestra when paired with an LG G3 TV. Packaging: The unit came very well protected with sustainable packaging. No Styrofoam. Easy to unpack. Easy to dispose. Well done, LG! Set-up: Simple and easy. I was impressed by the simplicity of the setup. Only needed to connect a high-speed HDMI cable from the eARC on the LG G3 to the eARC on the soundbar. Standard HDMI ports are used. Even though the cable is included, you can use any cable you already own. Not a fan of those companies that are moving to other size HDMI (mini/micro). Plugged in the subwoofer and satellite speakers and they synced with the bar instantly. No button pushing, no extra steps needed from the remote. Seamless. Installed the Android app and was able to connect quickly. Again, no hoop-jumping or teeth pulling. Love it! For testing, the rear speakers were merely placed on nightstands at ear level and did a great job, but mounting the rears or elevating them would enhance the sound even more. Configuration: As soon as the soundbar was plugged into the TV, the option was available to use the WOW Orchestra, which uses the TV speakers in conjunction with the soundbar setup to enhance the experience. The only delay was waiting for the system to upgrade it's firmware. Once that was done, it was off to the races. The different sound schemes in the app provide lots of base options for preset sound profiles, but there are plenty of options for tweaking the sound and volume of all speakers in the system, so you can customize everything to your ear's content. The only downside is a limited equalizer functions to better tune the sound. I have not yet tested the AI Configuration functionality, but look forward to seeing the results of using such a big system in a small room. Sound: More than enough for a medium to large room. Loud AND clear. Tried with and without the WOW Orchestra, and I have not yet decided which I prefer, but there is a ton of sound. Summary: This is a top-end system with power for any room. Tons of features, quick setup, and easy to use. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for high-quality sound.

I recently got the LG Soundbar S80TR, and it has totally upgraded my space. I have it set up in a bedroom that is used mostly for gaming and watching TV. It also pairs perfectly with my LG TV! Plus, it's got all the connectivity options I need—Bluetooth, HDMI, and optical input—so it works great with all my devices. Overall, the LG Soundbar S80TR is a fantastic addition to my setup. It's easy to use, sounds incredible, and looks sleek. I am very impressed with this soundbar. A sound bar needs to be easy to use and set up. This one really is. I used the ARC connection to the TV, plugged in the speakers and sub. Turned it on, and it just works. Easy soundbar app as well. So, there is no separate receiver or speaker wires for the real. Huge upgrade from my older soundbar. The sound options are great. It really paired perfectly with my LG OLED. Dolby Atmos, WOW sound, and DTS:X all are great, and the wow is a cool way to listen to music! With 580W the sound can fill the room! I am not sure what 3D Spatial Sound is, but I like it. AI room calibration using the built-in microphone really made a difference. I strongly recommend this bar!
